ABOUT EVELYN

The short version: I'm Evelyn and I am a San Diego based wedding photographer who shoots up and down Southern California and the Bay Area. I've been described as 'good people.'

The long version begins with my family, who are my everything: my Grandma, with who I grew up playing kickball, my Mom, who's taught me to be patient and forgiving, and my Dad, part time soccer coach and a man meant to be the father to daughters. Together with my sister, we are constantly communicating by group text, sharing an excessive numbers of emojis and commentary on all things Golden State Warriors related.

While I was born and raised in The Bay Area, New York City will always feel like home. After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, I moved east with two suitcases, my laptop, and hope. With almost 9 years of Manhattan living, I exclusively worked for American Express, loving my last role in marketing and strategy for luxury hotel benefits for premium card members. Searching for year round sunshine brought me to Southern California.

Travel is a pillar of my life. Introduced to me as an adult while working in the travel industry, I quickly fell in love with new adventures and food, food, and more food! I appreciate Per Se as much as I've loved rice, garbanzo beans, and ketchup from a street vendor in Istanbul. Highlights of my life include being on safari in South Africa and traveling solo in Australia for 2.5 weeks.

I came to value the documentation of memories very early in life when I came to find that there were no physical photos of my parents' past in my home: all was left behind in Nicaragua when they immigrated to the US. With that said, "I love your travel photos. Would you take engagement photos?" is the Facebook message that changed my life. I said yes, loved every aspect of the shoot, and began taking classes at the School of Visual Arts and the International Center of Photography in NYC before diving into what is now my way of giving back to the world: photography.
