Balboa Park is one of my favorite locations for San Diego mini sessions. With beautiful gardens, architecture, greenery, and plenty of variety, we can create a full gallery of images without needing a long session.

San Diego Mini Session, Coronado Family Photos

Few places say ‘San Diego’ quite like Coronado Beach: soft sand, ocean breezes, and iconic Hotel Del Coronado. This sweet family of five chose Coronado for their San Diego mini session, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.

We started the evening at the Coronado sand dunes, where the warm, golden light brought out the soft tones of their cream-colored outfits. The neutral palette looked incredible against the beach backdrop. As the sun dipped lower, we moved closer to the water’s edge to capture playful moments, candid laughs, and a few timeless portraits with the waves rolling in.

Sunset mini sessions like this one are wonderful for families with older kids and teens. The later time means no rush, plus the light is absolutely magical. In just a short session, we captured a mix of posed and candid moments that truly reflect their family’s connection.
